Teens from the IBM-affiliated Excelsior Academy, part of the Newburgh, NY Enlarged City School District, walk in a graduation processional at Orange County Community College on May 17, 2018, in Middletown, NY. They are part of a national network, founded by the IBM Foundation, of more than 100 STEM-focused “P-TECH” schools that confer both no-cost high school diplomas and associate degrees. They are affiliated with 70 community colleges and 450 companies, which provide paid internships, mentors and job interviews.
